Sean Dyche is hoping his Burnley side can take advantage of any nerves Liverpool may be feeling during Sunday’s clash at Anfield.
Liverpool head into the match having drawn four of their last six games, a run that has seen Manchester City leapfrog them at the top of the standings and the Citizens may well be four points clear by the time Burnley arrive on Merseyside.
The Clarets are also in need of the points, as back-to-back defeats against Newcastle and Crystal Palace have left them just five points clear of the relegation zone, but Dyche feels his side will be ready to capitalise if Liverpool show any signs of feeling the pressure on Sunday. “I wish it was as easy as taking advantage of [Liverpool] nerves.
Top players become top for dealing with all that comes with football, they have a very good squad,” Dyche told reporters. “If it does feel like that [nervy] then hopefully it will help us.

When you play the big guns you need every little thing your way but you must play well.” Burnley have proven their credentials against the top six already this season, as they followed up a recent draw at Manchester United with a victory over Tottenham and Dyche is hoping those results will stand his players in good stead. He added: “They’ve lost one game all season for good reason because they’re a strong side and strong squad, but we have got to take belief from Tottenham win and the result at Old Trafford into it.”
