Nice game Bassey even if you got sent off You still had a descent game in the left back position….. Good to see you in an Ajax shirt
How can you call a red card good. Jamilu Collins was excellent for Cardiff today in England. That is why Bassey is not as good as Collins. Jamilu Collins is the best Super Eagles left back. Bassey has a long way to go.
You had me at “How can you call a red card good” but then you derailed tragically by comparing bassey to Collins. This is my issue with Nigerians , why the hype? If Collins is that good why did he leave 2nd division in Germany to 2nd division in England? How come Porto, Ajax did not snap him up?
Governor, it is normal to compare players who operate in the same position. Collins even won man of the match in the league. The problem with Nigerians is that we get carried away with younger players. Age is the only positive thing that Bassey has over Collins.
Wow So after playing for the Super eagles and for his relegation fighting team in Germany for years no champions league or top European club deemed him fit to be bought? lol You must be out of your mind……Even national team selectors now consider him 3rd choice and you are here talking rubbish lol.. Never ever compare Bassey to Jamiu..
Governor, modern day national team coaches do not only rely on players because of Champions League experience. Collins has played as a full back for many years very well. Bassey is still learning the trade. One day he will be better than Collins because of his age. For now Jamilu is better.
So because Bassey had a red card he is no longer good and it’s your Collins that is good?…… This is the problem I have with the national team circles…… Always using the national team to market and promote player’s dying careers instead using player’s flourishing careers to market and promote the national team…… How can a Nigerian player ever win the CAF AFOTY award in this generation when people like you prefer to market a Collins on a downward career path and throw away a Bassey who is on an upward career path that will definitely lead him to The Barcelonas and Madrids in no distant future……And the most painful thing is that many admistrators and top football officials and even coaches in Nigeria have this kind of mindset…….We have a long way to go.
Senior man, the only advantage Bassey has over Collins is age. The age factor will always make Bassey more valuable. Apart from that Collins has greater technical knowledge of the game. The English Championship clubs will defeat a lot of clubs in the Dutch Eredivisie. Collins almost scored in the league but Bassey got a red card after playing poorly. Let’s be guided.
Ajax produced or nortured one of the best and most decorated players Nigeria has ever had…..Kanu,Finidi,Oliseh,Babangida,Ikedia,etc……This players went on to play for big clubs like Inter Milan,Arsenal, Dortmund,Real betis, Juventus, and so on……We are presently lacking players who are in this kind of clubs and now we have finally got one on a path that can lead him to such clubs then you appear with your Collins?……where has Collins knowledge of football taken him to?…. please don’t use SE to market players abeg……If Collins is playing in the UCL or in a top 5 league then wake me up.
What club was Collins playing when he was Bassey’s age? And since Collins is more technical why has Zaidu and Bassey taken the LB from him in the national team?
Ajax is living on past glory. The Dutch league is no longer strong
only players like Collins who win Man of the Match awards are welcome in the Super Eagles. Red card players should rest.
