Former Nigerian international Odion Ighalo has slammed critics of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen over his botched transfer move this summer.
Recall that the Nigerian international was expected to join either Chelsea in the Premier League or Saudi League club Al-Ahli in a megadeal.
Reacting to the development, Ighalo, via his official Twitter handle, stated that Osimhen is human and not exempt from making mistakes.

However, the former Manchester United striker noted that Osimhen will be back stronger.
“But seeing comments about this young man from his own country people makes me really sad, without even knowing what happened.
“I spoke to him and I can feel the pain in his voice, the way he’s been treated, this young man play with heart and pains for his country.
“Hmmm it’s well, he will definitely be back stronger, we learn everyday in life. Happy New Month to y’all.”

Many Nigerians speak from a place of ignorance.. if only they know how Napoli contributed in making his move difficult for him..
Nigerians should support osihmen and encourage him,, he has done well for the nation and needs our support at these periods of his life..
I’m sure he will be back with more fire!
Osimhen is rich enough to own a club. Let him buy one and play there.
Whoever thinks Nigeria is worth dying for must still be living in a trace.
The only player who practically puts his life on the line is coming under attack from the same people he does so for….first by an incompetent backstabber who questions his commitment and then by nitwits who ordinarily have always wished every other SE player plays for Nigeria “the way osimhen does”….LMAOoo
Bad news for most of them….Osimhen is still in very safe hands. He is just observing a much needed “extended break”…he is still goona get up to 1000 minutes of football by the next transfer window which is enough to keep him in shape (together with plenty of time in the gym)
Unless something changes, Victor remains the best paid player in the Serie A till 2026.
Napoli already close to 140m in the red due to transfer deficits this summer. FFP knocking….Aurelio Dé Laurentis…..over to you. Request for 130m again come January ehn….LMAOoo
I do not understand Ighalo’s comment. Osimhen wished death by the god of ogun on some Nigerians but he was mute , now the same section of fans are speaking against him he is complaining. Can you sow thorns and expect to reap mango? Humility is what will take you higher. Personally I hope he learns from the recent events but pride does leave that easily.
Osimhen used to be humble, when he left Charleroi and moved to Lille, a delegation from the club Charleroi actually came to Lille to visit and say thank you and I recall he was tearing up. That is the Victor I know , not this arrogant version. He should use this timeout to reflect and come back stronger.
You spoke well. Osimhen is facing difficulties because of his rudeness. He failed to get a good transfer. He must now tender a public apology to Finidi and all Super Eagles fans. His foul mouth will take him nowhere.
How come other players transferred without problem? Osimhen should have taken pay cut to go to Chelsea. Greed is a problem.
He is not talking about pay cut you people should know what we’re talking about by reading well before you comment. He said humility and not pay cut.
You are very right @Chima. Like someone said the other day, you are truly wealthy and wise. Osimhen should be humble and take pay cut. He messed up by insulting Finidi. He might be wealthy but he wasn’t wise to insult people. You are a great person @Chima. Someone of your timber and calibre is highly valued.
Humility is the key of life.
