Lassana Diarra and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly close to agreeing the mutual termination of the midfielder’s contract.
The 33-year-old returned to French football last January, penning a one-and-a-half-year contract with the Parisians, who were eager to add to their midfield ranks at the time.
However, the former France international has found game-time hard to come by, both under former head coach Unai Emery and current incumbent Thomas Tuchel, managing just four appearances this season.
Rather than sit on the sidelines and see out the remaining six months of his deal, the ex-Chelsea and Real Madrid midfielder has asked for his release and the two parties are understood to be close to reaching an agreement.
What Diarra does next remains to be seen with some French publications claiming he could retire in the near future, rather than search for what would be the 11th different club of his career.
