Newcastle midfielder Mohamed Diame says he would like to stay with the Magpies but is open to the prospect of moving on.
The 31-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season but, if the player makes a further three Premier League appearances, he will automatically trigger a 12-month extension at St James’ Park.

Diame says he is happy at Newcastle and would prefer a new two-year deal with the Magpies but the club’s current reluctance could see the Senegal international decide to move on to pastures new.
“They know I want to stay,” he said last week. “I am happy at Newcastle. “It was tough at the beginning but I settled down.
But if I have to go, then I will go, it is no problem.” Premier League rivals Brighton and Crystal Palace are thought to both be monitoring the situation at St James’ Park, while there is also believed to be interest from Turkey with Besiktas and Galatasaray linked.
