Rangers Nigeria striker Cyriel Dessers missed out on the Europa League Goal of the Day award for matchday 7.
Dessers netted a brilliant goal in Rangers’2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Thursday.
The Super Eagles striker superbly controlled a long pass from his half before hitting a low left-foot shot into the back of the net to make it 1-1 on 88 minutes.
United captain Bruno Fernandes went on to score in stoppage time to seal the win for the Red Devils.
Dessers’ strike was one of four goals nominated for the award by UEFA.
After the conclusion of votes by fans, Dessers placed fourth in the four-man shortlist.
The award went to Dario Osorio of Midtjylland, while Milot Rashica of Besiktas and Can Uzun of Frankfurt placed second and third respectively.
