Cyriel Dessers and Leon Balogun were in action for Rangers who defeated Aberdeen 1-0 to win this season’s Scottish League Cup title.
Dessers and Balogun played for 90 minutes as Rangers landed their 28th League Cup title in Sunday’s final at Hampden Park.
The hero for Rangers was James Tavernier whose 76th minute strike was enough to give Rangers victory.

In last season’s final, Rangers lost 2-1 to arch rivals Celtic.
Balogun, 35, has now won his third major title at Rangers, after winning the Scottish Premiership in the 2020/21 season and the Scottish Cup in the 2021/22 campaign.
For Dessers this is his second major trophy following his triumph in the Belgian Cup with Genk in 2021.

I feel these two guys deserve to be in the 50-man list in place of Tella and Omeruo
Congratulations to both Balogun and Kolawole Dessers. I am very happy for you our own.
However, both of you guys deserve to be in the final list of the Afcon but I read it some where that Balogun and Dessers were not included in the 50 players list of the players submitted by Oga Paseiro and NFF to the CAF.
Well, it is a big mistake if that was true, and it is too early to comment on that because the final list for Afcon has not come out yet. All eyes on Oga Paseiro and the Nigeria Football Federation Afcon list.
Congratulations, Dessers and Balogun. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
