Nigeria forward Emmanuel Dennis has been nominated for the UEFA Champions League player of the week award following his superb display in Club Brugge’s 2-2 away draw against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday, Completesports.com reports.
Dennis bagged a brace in the first half of the thrilling encounter with Sergio Ramos and Brazilian midfielder, Casemiro scoring two second half goals to prevent Real Madrid from suffering an embarrassing defeat.
He will battle with three other players; Luiz Suarez, Achraf Hakimi and Serge Gnabry for the award.
Fans voting has already started on the official website of UEFA where Dennis is named ‘Emmanuel Bonaventure’.
Suarez made the deadlines on Wednesday after scoring both goals as Barcelona rallied back from a goal down to beat Inter Milan 2-1 at the Nou Camp.
Morocco defender, Hakimi netted both goals in Borussia Dortmund’s 2-0 away win against Slavia Prague.
Former Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion winger, Gnabry made a memorable return to London, scoring four goals in Bayern Munich’s 7-2 rout of Tottenham Hotspur.

I wonder why CSN is not giving a WRAP UP of the UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE yesterday tonight. We have some Nigerians that played and even impressed.
SADIQ UMAR(Partizan Belgrade) scored 2 goals emulating his compatriot Dennis Bonaventure in scoring Double. In a Week, we now have 2 Nigerians that scored double both in the Champions League and Europa League. Our strikers are really impressing. Sadiq Umar seem to have found his form at Partizan and shouldn’t be neglected. He scored double again in the Serbian League during the weekend and he’s got another double in the Europa league. In all, SADIQ UMAR has now got 7 goals in 9 games for Partizan Belgrade this season. The towering striker can add a lot of spice to our attack. I personally prefer him to Onuachu sef. Over to Rohr and his scouts. Hope they don’t neglect him any longer
