Etebo was also instrumental thanks to his performance in the middle of the pack which helped the newly promoted club to claim all three points.
Dennis got on the score sheet in the 10th minute slotting in after his initial shot was blocked.
He then turned provider as he set up Ismaila Sarr on 42 minutes to double Watford’s goal.
The former Club Brugge striker was then replaced in the 66th minute.
As at the time of writing this report, Dennis was ahead in the voting.

The Watford bench did not look happy at all when Dennis scored. Only the coach seemed happy. Very absurd
Etebo was a joy to watch with his energy and great transition play…..Etebo was strong in midfield even as cleverly was just giving away possession in midfield…..Etebo played the deep lying holding midfield role just infront of the defense and he performed well…..Etebo is my man of the match.
Etebo was fantastic especially in the 2nd half….Dennis had a very good game, good goal, nice pace, was a threat all through before he was removed…Ekong tho..he lacks confidence in one-on-ones….always looking for the safest option
DENNIS THE MENACE.
Looks a real menace in the center forward role. Very energetic display. What better way to make your premier league debut than with a goal and an assist?
We have a good number of center forwards to select from for SE duty. With more performances like this, Dennis will be added to these collection of possible strikers.
Etebo did what Etebo does. A worthy MOM performance. Ekong also did well. Solid in the defense.
Always rated Etebo as a super eagles starter but some clowns will be disturbing my ears with Shehu.
@Chima E Samuels… Etebo is a very good player and from how we used to know him from U-23 days, a lot of us know he has more to offer especially if he is asked to project his midfield game more towards the opponents goal area than sitting at the base of our midfield… It is my hope that our coach will watch him more closely in EPL now fashion out how best to tweak his duties for optimum effect with Eagles… I am one of those who believe players should not play to different in position and style from what they are comfortable and best at from club duties… they more matches at club and often get accustomed to what they are asked to do regularly in their league duties… Happy Sunday to all!!!
Which role did Etebo played yesterday @Jimmy? Please answer that question then we’ll continue the debate. Una don Dey put cutlass for our coach head that he’s misusing Etebo. Please where did he play yesterday on the pitch?
@Ayphillydegreat… I did not watch it, until I read here that it was deep-lying, meaning DM, I thought it would be AM because immediately he was signed… We all read he would be playing in the upper midfield space… he can do a job in DM we all know, he can also do equal job in AM, which one he plays better would be a thing for fans to judge… I would want to think it might be AM because he can shoot, dribble and run. He has an eye more for goal than Iwobi from their past showings I would like to think… but I was busy yesterday and did not watch any of the games… even up till now, I have not seen the highlights of all games by our boys.
I say let me bring it to ur notice that our amiable captain ahmed musa scored yesterday in turkey league, hope u are aware. so let’s wait for the best player from Nigeria signed by Tunisia clue that is better than musa
He also assisted the 1st goal for his team with a splitting diagonal pass from the edge of the penalty area which was met by the CF in the 6 yard box.
Dream debut for a man who hasnt seen too many games in close to 10 months. Who says vision and hardwork does not pay…?!
Form is temporary….class in permanent….!!!

@Jimmy eeh yah you didn’t watch the match that’s quite unfortunate giving all the time you’ve been on CSN for the last 3 days or so. For someone who claims he works from home not been able to watch any of the plethora of matches available yesterday and not to have seen any of the highlights means you missed a lot. Eeeyah Abẹ rọlorun. Sorry en. Everyone have been shouting gbajare that Rohr is using Etebo wrongly. I’m sure it was Rohr who told the Watford coach to play him as a DM in his premier league debut LMAO!!
Well wether Etebo is better than Iwobi as the SuperEagles AM depends on who the gaffer believes can do the job better. At the WorldCup Etebo played as CM against Croatia and played as an AM against Iceland and Argentina while Mikel revert to the CM role leaving Ndidi as the DM. Our midfield wasn’t overwhelmed and I think his best game at that WorldCup was against Croatia. When he played further forward he was energetic but didn’t provide a single assist. Iwobi on the other hand at the AFCON created assists and also scored our winning goal against defending champions Cameroon.
For me if I were the gaffer I will continue with the Ndidi, Etebo, Iwobi midfield combo because the trio have gained some valuable experiences in our last two major tournaments. However, the emergence of Aribo, Onyeka and a potential prospect of Olise and Ejaria might call for an interesting shake up in that midfield
pls also remember to add that Etebo cos us penalty against Croatia. to me Joe Aribo Ndidi and Alex still remain the best, until d others u mention arrive. I am not trying to take away anything from etebo, cos he is a good player that can walk into anything Africa team starting eleven, and even some European and American teams without problem
