Newcastle are planning a move for Arsenal young forward Emile Smith Rowe in the January window.
Rowe was linked to Arsenal’s London rivals Chelsea over the summer after spending much of last season on the bench with his future at the club in doubt.
Now, Northern Echo
is reporting that Newcastle are considering a move for Smith Rowe in the winter window and club chiefs will soon meet to discuss their January plans.The report claim that Newcastle’s directors Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi are due to meet with chairman Yasir al-Rummayan before the end of the international break.
Magpies head coach Eddie Howe will also be involved in the discussions as the high-flying side look to plan out their transfer strategy for January.
The media outlet also claim that Smith Rowe has already been discussed by Newcastle’s recruitment team as a potential target – given his lack of game time at Arsenal.

Rowe has made six appearances in all competitions this season, having also struggled with injuries during the campaign.
Smith Rowe was at Arsenal academy for eight years before eventually breaking into the first-team back in 2018.
Since then, he has gone on to make 102 appearances for the Gunners – scoring 18 goals and recording 11 assists during that period.
Rowe was part of the England team that won the European U-20 Championship in the summer.
He featured in the side that won the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
At Arsenal, he has won two Community Shield- 2020 and 2023.
