Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has advised Noni Madueke to show some level of consistency in his game if he must remain in the starting XI.
Pochettino made this known in an interview with TribalFootball, where he hope to make him an important player for Chelsea in future.

“First of all, it’s about to have the space for him. When the club signed Cole Palmer, also he [Madueke] was here with the club. We were signing another player to play in the same position as him. It’s all about adaptation and try to find a dynamic where Palmer and him can play together.
“Yes, of course, always we hope the players with talent, like Noni, we hope he can be consistent playing in the team, the starting XI.
“Of course, but always it’s about to find the right balance for the team and when Palmer arrived, he was doing really well, sometimes you cannot play two players in the same position. But yes, he has the talent and we hope he can grow and be an important player for Chelsea in the future.”

With Saka, Foden, Bowen and even Cole Palmer ahead of him in the 3 Lions pecking order for the right wing role, it looks like Madueke is increasingly becoming a Nigeria prospect. Pound for pound, I think Madueke is just as good as these other lads. But crucially, he’s being ignored by Northgate, at least for the time being.
I think Nigeria need to pounce now. He’s ripe for the taking. Let’s move now before Northgate gets interested.
And while we’re going for Madueke, can someone give Ebere Eze a call? With the way the English dumped him in recent games, it won’t surprise me if Eze jumps at the chance to play international football with Nigeria. Especially as the next world cup is fast approaching.
The guy Eze is a virus. He should not come near the SE. He was the main reason why oliseh is yet to play for Nigeria. I don’t know is beef with Nigeria. Please let’s move on from these guys that have umpteen times show that they don’t want to play for us.
I will recommend we start talking to Lesley Ugochukwu pertaining nationality switch. The boy always talk highly of Nigeria in all his interviews.
Thumbs up Sister Mercy.
Eze plays Kerewa Kerewa football. We have Daniel Daga to groom. Al Hassan Yusuf is there and Tom Dele Bashiru is available.
Even Ibrahim Olawoyin will floor Eze.
I agree with you @pompei. It is highly unlikely that Eze will get a look in by Southgate again.Thevsame way he dealt with Tammy. Olise is facing the same hard time in getting a call up to the French team because of the sheer quality in the French team.Ot will take a catastrophic injuries and sidelines to at least 6 French players who are all ahead of him in the perking order for Olise to get a look in and he knows this.
So it is the right time to go for them because they will not make the Euro squads if both countries.Interestingly, Gusau does not appeared interested or does not have the apparatus to get to these players. He can commission Pinnick and Iwobi to talk to them again though I have the feeling the new Foreign coach will resurrect the matter again as it is all about squad depth.
Imagine a Nigerian team with Ndidi,Iwobi,The man from Brentford, Eze, Olise, Osimhen, Boniface, Tella.Fearful, And then we must get Solanke of Bournemouth as a back up to osimhen.Asvit appears Southgate preferred other options to him even if they are crippled and not playing regularly
Why are not understanding that Ebere Eze is no longer eligible to play for Nigeria.. he has played a competitive game for England and he did that way above the age that can pave way for him to make a switch to Nigeria.. so Eze is gone we must accept it.. same way we lost Tammy Abraham.. even this German guy in dutmond who appears to want to switch to Nigeria is also ineligible because he has played a certain amount of games for Germany making his switch no longer possible..
Players we should be talking about now is olisa, madueke, ugochukwu..
Olisa and madueke can replace chukwueze and ageing Simon Moses respectively… ..
For me we need to prioritize olisa and make him see reasons to play for Nigeria because we currently do not have his type of player in the super eagles.. madueke will have a lookman to contend with and also an experience Simon Moses when he recovers, solanke for me is not a must as oshimen is a better striker and we have some other options in Boniface and others who can deputize for oshimen when he is not around..
We don’t even have a coach to start with.. the new coach is the right person to go after these players
Bro… don’t just say Osimhen is better than Solanke. Osimhen is good but his game is still limited, there are attributes Solanke has better than Osimhen… also, we have to wait and see how Osimhen performs if in EPL. Dominic Solanke is a clinical player and for me I feel Osimhen owing to his work rate should have players who substitutes him in gamed to keep him fresh. If Osimhen has played 65minutes and we are winning games comfortably, I see no reason why he should not be substituted for another player to come in fresh…
