Silvestre de Sousa is adamant Pakistan Star can get the better of Beauty Generation in Sunday’s Stewards’ Cup at Sha Tin. John Moore’s Beauty Generation has risen to the top in Hong Kong after his dominant performances in the Longines Hong Kong Mile at Sha Tin over the past two years.
The six-year-old will be looking to stamp his authority down even further in Sunday’s Stewards’ Cup, but he is set to face stiff competition from Pakistan Star, who is one of the most talented around.
De Sousa has been handed the task of guiding the Tony Cruz-trained charge to glory and the jockey is feeling optimistic about coming out with a victory. “Pakistan Star was never straightforward when I rode him in the past,” he said. “But he’s changed a lot, so now he travels handy and can quicken. A lot will depend on how he jumps out of the gate – I do think a small field will be more suitable for him. “Beauty Generation is special, no one can take that away from him, but while he’ll be hard to beat, he’s not unbeatable.”
