Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez has described Dutch star, Frankie De Jong as one of the best midfielders in the world following his performance in the Blaugrana’s 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao on Sunday at the Estadio San Mames.
Recall that Raphina scored the only goal of the game after (45+2) minutes.
Xavi, who was excited with the result, heaped praises on De Jong after the encounter.
“We played 70 to 80 minutes at a good level, but at a Stadium like San Mames, it’s only natural to end up suffering because they press a lot,” MARCA quoted Xavi as saying
“Frankie De Jong is playing at a spectacular level, he gives us a lot, I think he is one of the best midfielders in the world right now.”
De Jong has racked up two goals and one assist in 23 Laliga appearances this season.
Barcelona top the Laliga table currently with 65 points from 25 games.
