Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne says winning the UEFA Champions League final over Inter Milan on Saturday, June 10 at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium would be immense for the players, club and fans.
City are currently on the hunt for a maiden Champions League trophy.
De Bruyne claims that the Cityzens understand how Inter play.
“We understand Inter,” Manchestereveningnews.com quoted De Bruyne as saying
“They are compact, they play a 5-3-2, the two strikers hold the ball well and they have runners from midfield. They defend incredibly well. We don’t expect an open game, that doesn’t happen a lot in finals.
“We shouldn’t get too nervous too quickly. Maybe there won’t be a lot of early chances. We have to play the way we do, be comfortable and score goals.
“We’ve been consistent, good in this competition. We need to find a way to win the first one. It would be immense for the players, club, fans.”
De Bruyne has netted twice in nine Champions league appearances this campaign.
Inter Milan have won the Champions League on three occasions (1963/64, 1964/65 and 2009/10) while City were runners up in the 2020/21 season.
