Former Chelsea midfielder, Ramires has given his verdict on the Blues’ FIFA World Cup final tie against Palmeiras.
Chelsea will clash with Palmeiras in the FIFA Club World Cup final fixture on Saturday evening at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium, UAE.
The Premier League giants head to the game after beating Al-Hilal 1-0 in the semi-final, while the Brazilian side defeated Al Ahly 2-0 in the other semi-final encounter.
Ramires, who has also played for Palmeiras before his 2020 retirement, is expecting Chelsea’s midfield quality to shine through.
“Palmeiras is a competitive team and very dangerous when they have room to use Rony and Dudu’s speed, with Veiga loading.
“The strength of this Chelsea, in my view, is the great ability to control their midfield, with Jorginho, Kovacic and Kante, apart from the presence of Lukaku, who is going through a great moment.
“I believe that’s where the game will develop, with teams looking to take advantage of these qualities,” Ramires, who has also played for Palmeiras in the past, told Globo Esporte.
