Odion Ighalo was an unused substitute as Al Hilal missed out on third position in the Club World Cup following a 4-0 defeat to African champions Al Ahly.
Ighalo started Al Hilal’s opening two games in the competition, but failed to make it from the bench this time around.
The Nigeria international scored one goal in two appearances for the Asian champions in the competition.
Al Hilal played majority of the game with nine men after Matheus Pareira and Mohamed Kanno were sent off in the first half.
Yasser Ibrahim bagged a brace for Al Ahly with Ahmed Abdelkader and Amr El-Sulya scoring the other goals.

Maybe the club decided to sell the match. Otherwise, Why on Earth will you bench ighalo? You have no technical reason what so ever!!!
Sick individual you are. They decided to sell the match” delusions of grandeur. It’s your though or nothing……Stupid son of a bitch!
@Ugo Iwunze maybe you will do yourself alot good by getting an Igbo translator app.
He was an unused sub. He didn’t play..why are you blaming him..can’t you read? For somebody that tormented Chelsea defense, he would have turn things around if used
which defense did he torment. Maybe your Tv was upside down. Because i don’t know the game you were watching. He was pathetic. Thats why he is on the bench
The table would’ve turned had Odion played. Besides, I also think the referee was fixed.
My brother shey u dey think wetin I dey think?4 unreplied goals. And you had to bench the league highest goal scorer.
Something fishy went on there.
My Nigerian brother is not from the agitation prone region so would take to whatever decision his coach makes. I hope you are served.
Yeah I feel you bro
Another olodo speaking with an inverted brain
Why on Earth, will a Sunday-Sunday team bench world best Ighalo who scored lots of goals for great clubs.
Lost memory remembers him scoring lots of goals the the Flying Eagles at the WC and won the highest goal scorer.
He didn’t disappoint at the the WC, scoring our only goals.
Infact he is much needed in SE than Victor Moses to the extent that Lord Picnic dies not to consult with anybody before going to beg him to return and take the place of Osi, Awo, Sadiq, Dennis, Kel, Olayinka, Dessers, Onuachu..
Question of the day..
How many goals and assists did Ighalo contribute in his first 10 matches in Europe and for SE ?..LOL
Nobe juju be that?
Four goals and the coach still benched Ighalo.
You couldn’t hide your likeness for Ighalo though you tried to. Must Ighalo play in every match? Remember it was 3 days ago that World football governing body, FIFA singled him out for praise. You think you really have anything worth hearing?
No juju, na as we want am, na so.
And this is the Ighalo you want to bring to SE ahead of Victor Moses Pinnik knuckle head. Infact only god will judge you. if Nigeria fail to qualify to World Cup. Mark my words you will be lynched oga pinnick
Don’t tell me you aren’t aware that Odion Ighalo is a life member of the S.E. If you were observant enough, you would’ve noticed that despite the fact that Odion wasn’t available for Afcon21, his jersey was strictly reserved for him, completely no go area. It means you could make all the noise but it changes nothing. Besides all that, without Odion Nigeria won’t qualify for the World. Head coach Yusuf Salisu and others who have been with our T.A would ensure the right thing is done.
@CSN, how about if you give us a break on retirees and publish reports of upcoming SE stars making progress. For example the news of Samson Tijani (Eaglet captain at the last U-17) making his league debut for a Champions League team Ref Bull Salzburg and will most likely feature against Bayern Munich.
Ighalo is past tense, he is not the first to win golden boot. Infact, Emenike won it with AFCON and didn’t make any fuss.
When will you learn? It was because Odion wasn’t in Cameroon that SE couldn’t win Afocn. We all witnessed what happened today as his team, Al Hilal couldn’t win their game because of Odion wasn’t in the lineup. Sentiments apart, Nigeria won’t qualify for the WC without Odion. No good coach would risk that
I like your comment based on fact. I like when people converse with facts while some others keep making noise without facts. The importance of Odion Ighalo can’t be overemphasized. Only a fool would say, leave Ighalo out of the team while deliberating on untested rookies and World Cup for that matter. Hiss!!!
My brother don’t mind them
@Jude Irrua they will never learn from history
Hahahahahahaha even if CSN decided to give us a break which is not even possible, FIFA and other organizations wouldn’t. That is how senseless such is. I’m even now convinced that Odion holds the success to our World cup exploits irrespective.
@Dapo Louder please
@monkey post I like your courage on this forum, even if it is only you against the world you will never backdown.
Keep keeping this forum alive we all cannot have same opinion jare.
Lol.. Thanks my brother.
So… Al Ahly 4 vs 0 Al Hilal is possible in this day and age? I thought someone on this forum once mentioned that Saudi Arabia league is stronger than Egyptian league?
It’s strange that Egyptian Champions will wallop Saudi Arabian Champions 4goals without reply… the all-conquering Champions of Asia for that matter. Mennnn! Something must be wrong somewhere… I don’t want to believe what some people are saying that Saudi Arabian league is a Sunday-Sunday league anyways… Goodmorning people!
