The Governor of Cross River State, Bassey Otu, has gifted Terem Moffi N10m for helping the Super Eagles finish second at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
Moffi received the gift on Thursday night in Calabar alongside his father and younger brother.
Otu praised Moffi for being a good ambassador of Cross River and being an example for the youth of the state.
“I am particularly delighted that you represented the State well and the fact that you have been a good ambassador of the youths in the State and beyond.
“Like you, we have so many talents across the State and we will continue to create opportunities for them to blossom.
“It is for that reason that we are making a lot of investment in youth and sports development,” Otu stated.
Earlier, Moffi had donated N1million to Pelican Stars FC, in addition to the donation of 25 balls each to the team and Calabar Rovers.
Moffi made his first appearance at the AFCON 2023 in the semi-final against South Africa.
He converted the Eagles’ first spot kick as they went on to win 4-2 on penalty shootout after regulation time ended 1-1.

It is a shame that our leaders have no fear of God in mind.
How could a governor in Nigeria gives such amounts of money to a multi billionaire player when there’s hunger in the land?
Why our leaders are so wicked like this?
If I were Moffi, I will reject the money or receive the money and add to the money and build a factory in the state.
Since common sense is not common for our leaders then we have to do the right things to reset their brains to the factory setting so that they can think well. Bunch of wicked people.
Like Mr. President like its officials. The president donated so much exotic cars to his officials while the citizens are now crying here and there for a living?
Kai, Nigerian government are the greatest enemies of Nigeria but no long thing.
From Mr. President to the governors and government officials, judgment of God is near, please be prepared.
Instead of them to change themselves but they changed our national anthem. Is that what is needed now ba? Very confused people ruling our nation. This is very frustrating. Did I not warn you Nigerians?
Well, I will continue reminding you people the right thing to do because you were chosen to serve us and I won’t stop telling you government officials the bitter truth until you people change for good. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
Are you all right? What is the African concept of exchanging gifts? Or is this too challenging for you to fathom?
In the same report, didn’t you read that Moffi had gifted a team first? And he has carried out numerous humanitarian services in the community. Say the truth, if Moffi had transferred the money to your account, would you have rejected it?
Wise man, indeed.
It is not even about the money.. I thought south Africa are in camp for the past two weeks. Still our our players are making one drama to the other .
Well collect ur money and use it for ur local community. If more players comes out from local area rises to stardom maybe the oilyel money wil spread to commoners around. ..
.the Qatari govt is telling caf to allow the best of u 17 team to come to Qatar for the world cup ..
So caf has been mandated to increase the Africa zone qualifications teams to get the best of 10 countries.
