Awoyini is a direct substitute for Osihmen.Their performance speaks volumes. I washed Onuachu against westham today . His performance shows he might struggle in a top league like he struggles with S.E. I rate him behind Teri mofi and Sadiq Umar as well ..
Onuachu was poor indeed,he had a torrid time and was disappointing all night.Though it was hard to judge him in this game because his team was outplayed by a very good Westham side.
If Onuachu thinks teams will stand aloof and watch crosses floated into the air for him in top leagues, the way they are being floated for him in Belgium, then he is going to be seriously mistaken.
He had better started watching clips of, and adapting his style to those of the likes of Peter Crouch, Benteke, Andy Carroll, Jan Koller and Nikola Zigic to learn how to manage to stay afloat in such highly competitive environments if he eventually manages to make the move.
We don talk am tired, he who has ears, let them hear what the spirit is saying.
Meanwhile Osimhen came on from the bench and made Legia Warsaw defenders regret ever choosing football as a career in about 30 minutes he was on the pitch….capping it all with yet another goal from a very impossible angle.
It takes more than scoring 35 goals in Belgium to be good enough for the level at which these big clubs are playing. If as striker in 2021, you can not offer much more than aerial threat, then you aint ready to lead the lines for any top team in the top 5 leagues.
Onuachu is a fluke only that he was hyped for whatever reason. The chicken eventually roosted. Osimhen and Awoniyi were paired in Douala and the result is there for all to see. They can play in the same match, That isn’t the issue. What the SE of Nigeria needs are prolific players irrespective of where they come from.
Paul Onuachu has a very long way to go if he wants to be counted among Eagles top strikers. If Awoniyi should maintain his form and be injury free, he will definitely displace Onuachu to be second choice behind the ever dangerous Victor Oshimen.
Since Onuachu got into Eagles, have never being impressed with his performances apart from his debut match. A thorough look into the striking department of our team will show a big loophole without the presence of Victor O.
When the going gets tough without Osihmen, it will be very difficult to put hope on Onuachu to deliver the goodies. It’s really a good time that Awoniyi is making himself available with every good week performance.
These two top SE strikers in top leagues are not not slowing down anytime soon..
Awo 10 goals, Osi 9goals..
Top marks for Odey (8goals in 10 matches)!
Nice!
Osimhen and Awoniyi should be the first two strikers for the Super Eagles. Osimhen should be starting with Awoniyi coming in for a like-for-like substitution if needed. No other striker measures up to these two for now.
@Sunny, the good thing is, Osimhen and Awoniyi can play in the same match just like what Coach Rohr in his good wisdom did in Douala, the result was massive. It will be stupid of any Coach to change his winning team. But I like the way we are now commenting disapionately. This must be the set norm for the good of Nigeria. However, it was not Onuachu’s day as good players do have off days. Besides, the formation played by his coach was wrong, so, there is no way a striker surrounded by all the defenders was going to score goals. Onuachu was just alone upfront. Like his compatriots, he needs encouragements after all, he has been scoring goals for his side.
Thanks John, I don’t think those idiots castigating Onuachu saw the match. Even mbappe wasn’t going to score in that match.
Don’t mind the I must comment segment of CS. Onuachu will bounce back.
Which CAR-NGA match did you all watch in Douala?? Awoniyi was never paired with Oshimen like most of you here are claiming. Awoniyi never tasted Action in the return leg. Ihenacho started the game alongside Oshimen not Awo.
Get your facts right and stop misleading people/copy and paste fans too.
Abi oo @Unicorn may be they were trying to talk about the match in Lagos when he came on and did well though the eagles still lost. I don’t like this idea of praising to heaven one player to another simply because he scored and others did not. Lukaku is not scoring now they say Oshimen is better very laughable
