Fabregas Steers Como Towards Courageous Display at San Siro
“With courage, we’ll always take to the pitch, even at San Siro. You win some, you lose some, but it’s vital the team plays with character,” declared Cesc Fabregas, the manager of Como, on the eve of their clash against AC Milan.
“It takes more than six months to gain the experience needed for playing in San Siro; it’s about the journey,” he continued, noting that for the first time this season, he has a full squad to choose from as they head to face the Rossoneri, bolstered by 5,000 Como supporters making the trip.
“Seeing all the players training with the same mindset is a real boost. It’s down to us to keep delivering satisfaction and strength to our fans to ensure they stay behind us. It’s all part of our journey: there will be setbacks at times, but we must keep moving forward to become a solid club, much like Atalanta has demonstrated.”
Como are set to meet Milan just two months after a last-minute defeat at Sinigaglia. “The results might not reflect it, but Milan have grown since our last match. I see a more organized and robust team, with added quality brought in. This is a crucial game for us to give our all to earn points and secure the win we strive for. We’ll go out there ready to battle with a positive mindset and a game plan aimed at victory.”
Fabregas added, “Assane Diao is in good shape during Ramadan. The other day against Venezia, it was warm, and he did lack a bit of energy. That can happen in a game, but he’s ready to play against Milan with no issues.”
