Baroni: “The Break Couldn’t Have Come at a Better Time! Insights on Tavares, Isaksen, and Castellanos…”

Reflections on the Match

“I believe that in the first half we were right in the game, but after the break it felt like they had a lot more energy than we did, running at double the pace. Once their third goal went in, we simply fell apart mentally; it was all too dominant from Bologna. We’ve reached the end of a run of matches against perhaps the strongest side, and we’ve paid a hefty price for that.”

On Tavares

“Marusic wasn't feeling his best either; he was willing to give it a go. We’ve faced numerous matches and traveled extensively, but that shouldn’t serve as an excuse. I know my squad, and today Bologna were just too much for us. When playing against an opponent that makes no mistakes, it becomes incredibly challenging. There were moments when luck was not on our side, like Zaccagni hitting the post. Matches like this can be explained away with the quality of the opposition.”

On Isaksen

“He, too, looked worn out. We came into this contest with various issues, including players on the brink of injury. I had Castellanos on the bench, but starting him wasn’t an option. I would rather take a loss than risk a player’s fitness. We simply lacked the energy.”

On the Break

“I’m not overly worried about this result; the break arrives at just the right time. We’ll have an opportunity to work together on the training pitch.”
