Former Liverpool forward Stan Collymore has warned Victor Osimhen against joining Chelsea.
Collymore believed Osimhen will be under intense pressure to deliver which could affect his game.
“That player, whoever it was, got talked about way beyond whether they were good, bad or indifferent on the pitch,” Collymore told Caughtoffside.
“It was always that the record signing would be expected to make the difference which I always thought was very unfair.

“The big-name signing that won’t just entertain us but will also become the poster boy of both his club and the entire Premier League.
“That could well be the case for Victor Osimhen if his rumoured move to Chelsea comes off, because the mind boggling numbers then puts unfair pressure and expectation on him,” he added.
Chelsea have been linked with a move for the Nigeria international this summer.
The Blues reportedly want to sign the striker on loan with an option to buy.

You are right..I mean someone that cannot handle criticism cannot handle pressure…
I remember back then I was a heavy critic of mikel obi..I even met him in jos where we attended a football summit I also criticized him face to face about his pattern of play
He didn’t get angry.. he didn’t invite ogun to kill me…he was so cool with his explanation…
But today look at him he is an afcon winner, a champions League winner, premier league and fa cup winner infact one of if not the most decorated nigerian footballer….
Criticism whether good or bad helps you to grow….
Osinmeh has never been criticised, he never gave any reason for anybody to do that because even when he didn’t score he always left nothing on the field whenever he played. His issues with Finidi is the first many people will hear of his outburst, and he wasn’t responding to a criticism, he was responding to an image tarnishing issue, so get your point straight bro, if you have any hatred towards the guy kindly drop it now and leave the dude alone. You criticised Mikel for his style of play? Okay, we’ve heard you.
Thank you for you comments.
While I am not in support of Osimhen insulting an older person, I think people should also talk to Finidi to have been more careful about tarnishing someone’s image. How on earth would someone say Osimhen selects the match he wants to play especially when such a match is a world cup qualifying match. Every player wants to be in the world Cup. I still believe Finidi did not tell the world the real reason for that accusation. So, nobody should blame the guy. Though may be younger but deserves his own respect too.
To me it’s a wrong accusation which was probably the reason he flared up.
I think Monkey or whatever has personal hatred for Osimhen.
You are mad do you have transport money to travel to jos not even talking of having an encounter with mikel you fool. Osimhen will kill you
Lmao.. hear yourself…So Victor ikpeba saying he shouldn’t have attempted that keke napep oh sorry bicycle kick in the qualifiers against GHANA was praise and worship abi?
Lmao…or the alleged story that made the rounds just recently that he chooses the matches he plays in is what?…
Oga there is nothing wrong with criticism like I said even ronaldo that shoulders the game whether for country or club whenever he steps on the pitch is critised whenever the need arise….
Lmao… maybe you don’t know the meaning of critism…or you think critism is life sentence…. lmao…
Lmao..Even mourinho after praising and comparing osimhen to drogba ended up criticing him that he dives like tilapia fish… lmao.. so what are we not saying…
If you like be 10 times better than Messi, you will be criticed and is not a bad thing…

I am hearing that Herve Renard has accepted to coach Nigeria. How true is this we will see, in a bit.
If you want to compare a player’s diving to fish, use cat fish or snapper. These fish dive much better than tilapia.
But the best diving fish is dolphin. So for me, I like to compare South American players, especially Argentines, to dolphins. Na dem be baba for diving. Just touch them small, and dey don go. That’s why my nickname for them is TOUCH AND GO.
OTILO.
