Super Eagles left-back Jamilu Collins and his SC Paderborn teammates head into Sunday’s final Bundesliga B away fixture against Dynamo Dresden knowing that any short of win may end their hopes of securing the automatic promotion ticket to the top flight, reports Completesports.com.
Paderborn occupy second position in the table with 57 points from 33 games, a point ahead of their rivals for the promotion ticket, Union Berlin who sit in second position.
Union Berlin will also be away to Bochum on Sunday.
Steffen Baumgart ‘ s men first earned promotion to the Bundesliga in the 2013/2014 season.
They however suffered a hasty fall from grace, being relegated to the 2. Bundesliga after only a season in the top division, and then again to the 3. Liga the season after.
Collins has featured in all of 33 league games for Paderborn this season but is yet to register a goal.
The 24-year-old is in Nigeria’s 25-man provisional squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
