Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika has said Club Brugge target in this season’s Champions League is not to just participate but also win it.
Onyedika was in action for Club Brugge in their 1-1 draw away to Scottish champions Celtic on Wednesday.
The draw leaves Club Brugge in 22nd place on seven points after five games and are just three points from the top eight.
Speaking on Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Onyedika said:”Club Brugge is also a big team, we are not in the Champions League just to participate, we are there to also create history and go as far as we can.
“Last season we made it to the knockout stage before losing to Benfica. So we are going to the Champions to challenge and win.”
The 2023 AFCON silver medal winner spoke about playing in the Champions League.
He added:”It is a competition every player want to play in and you have the opportunity to show yourself and play with top teams and top players also.
“It’s like a dream come true apart from the red card against Milan it was unfortunate, sometimes it happens, somethings you cannot control so playing in the Champions League is one of my proudest moments.”
Club Brugge will be back in action in the Champions League against Sporting Lisbon.
