Burnley have swooped for Leeds United goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell, agreeing a £3.5m deal in the wake of Tom Heaton’s exit. The Northern Ireland international made 28 Championship appearances for Leeds last season, but lost his place when Marcelo Bielsa signed Kiko Casilla from Real Madrid.

The 22-year-old was set for another season as the Spaniard’s back-up at Elland Road, but – even after Heaton’s departure – he appears to be coming in as Sean Dyche’s third option at Turf Moor.
The Clarets boss could have promised Peacock-Farrell opportunities in the cup competitions but how the manager satisfies Joe Hart and apparent first-choice Nick Pope as well as the new arrival remains to be seen. Peacock-Farrell joined Leeds after being released by Middlesbrough as a teenager and enjoyed a loan spell at York City in 2017.
