Burnley midfielder Jeff Hendrick has tipped the Clarets to put a dent in Manchester City’s title charge on Sunday. Pep Guardiola’s men went back to the top of the table on Wednesday with a win over Manchester United, but they could be back in second by the time they visit Turf Moor on Sunday as Liverpool face Huddersfield on Friday night.

Hendrick insists the Clarets will be going into the clash in high spirits, having secured their Premier League status with their draw at Chelsea on Monday, and he says they’re ready to have a say in the title race. He told the club’s website: “It’s always nice when the big teams come to town. It’s going to be tough; they’re a very good team and they move the ball well.
“We know there will be a lot of people watching, but this year we’ve picked up some good points from the big teams and hopefully we can do it again. “We’ve been saying for a few weeks now that the main thing for us is to take each game as it comes, and keep putting points on the board. “We’ve been on a good run of form as well, so it definitely helps.”
