Norwich City have reportedly stepped up their efforts to sign Burnley midfield target Harrison Reed from Southampton. Clarets boss Sean Dyche has been keeping tabs on the 24-year-old over the past season as he scored three goals in 36 appearances for local rivals Blackburn in the Championship.

And it was reported that he was set to make a summer swoop to try and lure the player to Turf Moor with the offer of Premier League football. However, the Canaries are now a top-flight outfit after winning the Championship title last term and could hold a key advantage in any transfer scrap for Reed given that he made 43 appearances for the Carrow Road outfit in a season-long loan spell in 2017-18.
A reunion with Canaries boss Daniel Farke might well appeal to Reed, who looks to be well out of the first-team frame at St Mary’s despite Ralph Hasenhuttl not yet seeing him close up having replaced Mark Hughes in the hotseat midway through the course of last season.
