The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has granted Samuel Chukwueze’s permission to report late to the Super Eagles camp ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The NFF took the decision after AC Milan’s request to have the winger available for their Coppa Italia clash with Cagliari on Tuesday.
The Super Eagles will open camp in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates same day.
Chukwueze, according to Italian reporter, Gianluca Di Marzio will now report for international duty on Wednesday, January 3.
Di Marzio also reported that the Algerian Football Federation turned down AC Milan’s request to also hold on to midfielder Ismael Bennacer for the game.
Chukwueze will be featuring at the AFCON for the third time.
He was part of Super Eagles squad at AFCON 2019 and AFCON 2021.

Bench warmer arriving late doesn’t make sense to me.
That is quite insensitive and uncouth comment@Chima. Chuzy is among the most talented and successful stars in the current SE. Chukwueze is a great baller.. A Europa gold winner, Under 17 gold winner, AFCON Bronze holder, played against top clubs (Madrid, Barca, Bayern, Liverpool, etc,) and came out tops.
Has there been any tournament or qualifying series in SE Chukwueze didn’t score or give assist??? One leg or two… His feet are blessed.
Let’s learn to celebrate and encourage our own. Even the last match he played for Super Eagles, he scored and gave assist despite coming from the bench. I can recall what Chukwueze did to South Africa and Cameroon at the 2019 AFCON under Gernot Rohr.
The coaching crew should know how to harness and optimize the best of the Arsenal at their disposal. Cheers!
I wish Samuel Chukwueze and the entire SE players a very successful AFCON 2024.
Chukwueze is far better than most other Super Eagles wingers.
I see what you’re doing there CSN
