Super Eagles and Villarreal star forward Samuel Chukwueze, NFF President Amaju Pinnick and a host of top foreign scouts from Europe are guests at the ongoing 2019 Super Stars Soccer Festival/Scouting Tournament in Uyo.
The tournament which started on Tuesday is being organised by Chukwueze’s mentor and benefactor Prince Victor Apugo with the creme of Nigerian football academies showcasing their talents in the presence of several scouts from clubs like FC Porto, CFR Cluj, Bristol City, Villarreal, among othees.
The scouts include; Ex Watford star and Polish legend Grzegorz Rasiak(Poland); Samuel Chukwueze’s agents Graham Heydorn(Canada) and Elliot Van Til(UK); Simon Hunt(UK), Michal Javnicky(Slovakia), Robert Paldan (Slovakia), Oleksandr Chaban (Ukraine), Yaroslav Zvarych (Ukraine), Kostyantyn Lemishko (Ukraine), Samuel Stapleton (UK), Luis Lima De Pinho (Portugal), Thomas Coakley (UK).
The participating teams include; Gee-Lec International Academy Jos, Glorious Day Football Club Lagos, Eastern Stars Football Academy Owerri, Landmark Sports Allstars Abuja, Family Love Academy Port Harcourt, Markan Football Club Owerri, Groomer Academy Uyo, New Generation Academy Umuahia, Eagle Eye Football Academy Uyo, Hope of Glory Academy Calabar, Gidado Football Club Kwara, Jeremiah Academy Ghana and Super Stars Academy Uyo (hosts).

Apugo who was previously the General Manager of Samuel Chukwueze and Kelechi Nwakali’s former club Diamond Football Academy says it’s his personal wish to ensure that more players hit stardom just like some
of the products of his former academy, while also thanking the NFF President Pinnick for supporting grassroots football.
“My only motivation is helping young talents fulfill their God-given potentials. See where Samuel Chukwueze is right now, that’s exactly what I want for these young boys,” Apugu stated.
“I believe this is the largest gathering of foreign scouts to ever visit Nigeria for a singular scouting event and I want to thank the NFF President Amaju Pinnick who I know is a huge supporter of grassroots football, for coming to see what we’re doing.”
