Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabili hopes to be included Nigeria’s squad to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 27-year-old has caught the eye with his impressive displays for South African club Chippa United this season.
The shot stopper has kept six clean sheets in 12 league appearances and conceded just 10 goals.
Nwabili’s fine form has seen his stake climb and Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro is currently monitoring his progress at the club.
Peseiro was at Chippa United’s training ground on Friday where he met the former Enyimba goalkeeper.

Nwabili is determined to get on plane to Cote d’Ivoire 2023.
“I wish to get a call-up but it’s not compulsory. It’s not by my performance because everyone is doing well in different clubs, other goalkeepers have been doing well in their clubs,” he told iDiski Times.
“If you are called up to your national team, kudos to you but I wish to represent my own country. I wish to wear my country’s jersey. I wish to wear it again.
“I went there before and I wish to wear it again in a nice tournament. That’s my wish.”
Nwabili has made just one appearance for the Super Eagles.

What a mature guy.
“I wish to get a call-up, but it’s not compulsory. It’s not by my performance because everyone is doing well in different clubs, other goalkeepers have been doing well in their clubs,”
That is the missing link right there.
I think many of us on this forum know more than those in charge of the sports in Nigeria.
How could NFF and his employees keep ignoring our fantastic players and goalies beyond my imagination kę.
I said a lot about he, Nwabali, but many people insulted on this forum, but now, look at what the national team manager is doing.
I don’t even bother anymore as long as I see the results, and this is one of them.
Dessers just scored in today’s match and he’s in fine form. The gaffer has no excuses to drop that smart guy from his squad.
Hmm. Lastly, Nwakali….. Nwakali…Nwakali.. I am very happy that Nwakali is doing great at the moment and the coaching crew is aware of him also in talks with him.
Having these Nwabali, Dessers, and Nwakali available for the Afcon is the best for Nigeria if the gaffer knows.
I am promising Nigerians again that no matter how the insult may be, I will never stop supporting our beloved country, Nigeria. Congratulations to Nwabali, my blood. Go and make Nigeria proud. We are going to see the best of Nwabali at the three nations tournament before the Afcon in Ivory Coast. Hmm. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
IF NOT THAT OUR TECHNICAL CREWS ARE NOT SERIOUS, I WONDER WHY THEY ARE STILL KEEPING FAITH IN UZOHO. IF YOU LOSE FORM, YOU LOSE FORM AND IT WILL TAKE TIME TO REGAIN IT BACK. THE COACH SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN CHANCES TO OTHER GOALKEEPERS AND TEST THEM IN EACH MATCHES (Friendly & W.C qualifiers) THEY PLAYED.
FOR INSTANCE: In 1996,1997, 1998, The coaches then, tested different goalkeepers in different matches( W/C qualifiers) to know who is going to be Number ONE.
** JOSEPH DOSU tested against Kenya(1-1) in Nairobi
** ABIODUN BARUWA tested against
Guinea(2-1) in Lagos
** IKE SHOROUMU tested against
B/Faso(2-1) in Ouagadougou.
** PETER RUFAI keeped against Guinea
(0-1) in Kanakri.
PETER RUFAI LOST FORM BEFORE FRANCE ’98 WORLD CUP & HE FLOPPED.
*** AND THIS IS WHAT WE ARE COMPLAINING THAT WE SHOULD NOT BE DECIEVING OURSELVES WITH EXPERIENCE PLAYERS THAT IS NOT FIT. ANY PLAYERS THAT IS NOT IN GOOD FORM & FIT SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN TO ANY COMPETITION.
TO HELL WITH EXPERIENCE & LEADERSHIP THAT IS NOT FIT & FORM.
The guy is good i watch one of his matches and he did very well he commands his area and bringing him will solve goal keeping crisis we are experiencing. I watched Ejuke in their last champions leaque match i think that guy will excel as a playmaker he reminds me much of Jay Jay in his early days in super eagle.
I personally think that this guy and that doma utd boy have the quality to solve our problems.
