Nigeria forward Odion Ighalo hopes of staying at Manchester United beyond the agreed date could now rest on the restart date of the Chinese Super League.
Ighalo linked up with Manchester United from Shanghai Shenhua on a six-month loan deal in January.
The 30-year-old is expected back at Shanghai Shenhua today (Sunday) following the expiration of the deal.

United are hoping to extend the loan agreement until January 2021, although Shanghai Shenhua are willing to allow the striker join the Red Devils on a permanent contract for around £20m.
With the resumption of the Chinese season now to be delayed slightly, United officials are now hopeful that will give them more time to reach an agreement for the player to see out the Premier League season with them.
Shenhua have reportedly offered Ighalo a contract extension until 2024, worth a staggering £400,000 a week, but the former Watford striker is keen to remain in England.
Ighalo has scored four goals in eight appearances for United.
