Super Falcons midfielder Rita Chikwelu believes the side can beat hosts France in Monday’s Group A clash at the Roazhon Park, Rennes, reports Completesports.com.
The African champions started their campaign at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup on a disappointing note going down to a 3-0 defeat against Norway.
The Nigerian Ladies however bounced back in the next game, edging out South Korea 2-0.
The West Africans remain in third position in the group and need at least a point against the French to secure a place in the Round of 16.
Hosts France on the other hand have won their first two games in the competition.
They thrashed South Korea 4-0 in the first game and beat Norway 2-1 in the second fixture.
Chikwelu is however upbeat they can put an end to the Europeans perfect run in the competition.
“It’s not going to be an easy game…we are 100% confident we can win France,”Chikwelu told the Super Falcons media.
Monday’s game will kick-off at 8pm Nigerian time.

Madam, let your performance speak for you.
Wish you ladies the best
You got it right lady. You can do anything when you believed. This is a team that can beat any team if they wanted to.
They are not like the Super Eagles who always making mouths. They are in Egypt now making mouths again like sweat potatoes lol.
You ladies should not giving France any space to operate. That’s it. Do not letting them playing their game.
They are not Super. France won against Norway because of the referee.
Put in mind Falcons, you playing against the host and they will throw everything at you girls.
We done it before against Cameroon and you ladies can do it again.
They are not better than you. That is the spirit.
Don’t be like Super Eagles and coach Rohr. Most especially Oga Rohr who believes his opponents always better than his team.
I said it and I’m still going to say it again, 6 points is what we needed.
It’s achievable with God, determination and Nigeria spirit, never say die.
Let’s show coach Rohr and his disciples what we are capable of. Even, if we can’t beat France, we should try our best. Our Falcons is not a baby team but Super Eagles is young. We are watching o. God bless Nigeria!!!
funkeeeee….we you keep quiet !!!!!!
Omo9ja relax and give better clarity to your views boss else you’ll get more canes!
This Omo9ja na big clown!
For him mind now, he is a great football analyst
Yea. The players are not scary, but the ref.
She will clip your wings with undue foul calls and cautions against you, so that the French women will have easy prowl.
I bet you, watch out
True my brother officiating against blacks is like war against devil. Lmao
@Akunde, I though I was the only person that noticed this. The ref. Okparanocie us like Amokachi in our team. But see what happened in the match against Norway. The ref gave her yellow card minutes into the game despite the fact that it was the Norway player that held her hand back. A minute after the ref blew another foul against her for nothing just to demoralised her and the team. We all see the effect in the first half.
My advice if our ladies to be bold and never feel inferior to the France girls.
God bless Nigeria. Good luck girls
These referees have been doing this thing against the blacks for decades and im shocked that Caf is yet to stand up for this bias trend.
