Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke has been called up to the England under-21 side for their friendlies later this month. England’s youngsters play Poland next week at Bristol City’s Ashton Gate and then face Germany at the Vitality Stadium, a game that Solanke will be hoping to feature in for the Cherries.
The former Chelsea and Liverpool striker will link up with the Cherries squad after the weekend game with Newcastle in the Premier League and he will be hoping to add to the four goals he scored as England booked their place at this summer’s finals in Italy.

Under 21 boss Aidy Boothroyd said: “It’s an exciting time, getting the boys back together to prepare for the Euros and two really good games against teams who could be our competitors in the summer. “Poland and Germany will give us really good tests.
Any team that qualifies for the under-21 Euro finals has to be respected. “You can see from the standard of the countries that are heading to Italy in June, they are all top teams.”
