Chelsea are confident Callum Hudson-Odoi can be convinced to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge, despite Bayern Munich’s interest. Bayern failed to land Hudson-Odoi in the January transfer window and are expected to return with a fresh offer this summer.
The England international had been keen to depart due to a lack of game-time with the Blues but he was beginning to feature more regularly prior to suffering a season-ending Achilles injury in April. The 18-year-old is due to fall out of contract next summer and if he were to reject the offer of a new deal Chelsea may well be tempted to sell.
However, the latest reports indicate Hudson-Odoi is open to agreeing fresh terms at Stamford Bridge, as he managed to establish himself as a regular prior to his injury and Eden Hazard’s likely exit will also increase his chances of more first-team action. Hudson-Odoi is expected to miss pre-season and the start of the new campaign with his injury, and may be able to make a return to action towards the end of October.
