Chelsea are set to send Lesley Ugochukwu out on loan for the 2024-25 campaign following an injury-hit debut season in England.
Ugochukwu moved to Stamford Bridge for €27 million after an impressive breakthrough at Stade Rennais, but he had just 15 appearances in all competitions last year, largely due to a hamstring problem.
Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, Romeo Lavia, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Carney Chukwuemeka and Conor Gallagher, form Chelsea’s midfield core and game time would be an issue for Ugochukwu next campaign.
Also, Andrey Santos has also returned from his loan spell at Strasbourg and reports suggest he could be set for a first-team role in 2024-25.
As a result, Chelsea are eager to loan out Ugochukwu next season, according to Foot Mercato (via Football Transfers).

Also confirming the plan to send Ugochukwu out on loan his transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist, on X, revealed that Ugochukwu is expected to leave Chelsea this summer as the London club is now planning for loan move.
According Romano, the Blues want the youngster to develop and play on regular basis and understands Premier League and Bundesliga clubs are showing concrete interest.
Everton are reportedly one of the clubs interested in signing the Frenchman on loan, with the Toffees set to sell Amadou Onana to Aston Villa for a reported €60m.
An unnamed Ligue 1 club are also keen on Ugochukwu, although the 20-year-old is reportedly eager to seal a Premier League loan as he looks to establish himself in English football.
A loan move last summer was reportedly an option for the ex-Rennes midfielder, however Mauricio Pochettino opted to keep Ugochukwu following a string of impressive performances.
The France U21 international has six years left on his current contract at Chelsea, while he has an Estimated Transfer Value of €13.8m.

Here’s a supremely talented player with amazing midfield qualities.
Going on a loan from Chelsea will definitely afford him the opportunity to rediscover himself and firm up his confidence.
Truly Sir and we need him so much and soonest in the Super Eagles. He will give the likes of Alhassan Yusuf,Wilfred Ndidi, Raphael Onyedika,Frank Onyeka a run for a place at the base of Eagles midfield.
Perhaps NFF are not moving on this dude because he’s so young.
But we can learn from Spain. Yamal just turned 17.
At the moment, Lesley’s interest lies with France, understandably.
NFF should send his nephew Onyekachi Apam to the guy. Make Apam finish work.
I know it’s unrelated, but I found this clip of Ike Uche as a Getafe player. The Garri Master used Fabio Cannavaro, Italy world cup winning captain, to drink garri.
Na a whole Cannavaro, na em Uche take make yeye like dis, before scoring a golazo.
Sotey Real Madrid fans gave him a standing ovation when he was being subbed off.
The only other opponent I remember Real Madrid fans giving a standing ovation was Ronaldinho.
SE did not make the best use of this immense talent. At least, he won an Afcon. He should have won a lot more.

Back to the topic of SE midfielders. Another Uche has landed in Getafe, this time a midfielder.
His handlers believe he could be even better than Rodri.
Uche Chrisantus is the name. Somebody mentioned him on this forum the other day.
I don’t know about him being better than Rodri, but if he’s as good as they say he is, we should be seeing him in the SE soon.
