Chelsea striker Ike Ugbo has joined second-tier Dutch club Roda JC on a season-long loan deal. Ugbo featured under new boss Frank Lampard in pre-season but the 20-year-old has now departed on loan to gain further first-team experience.
The young forward has previously spent time on loan at Barnsley, MK Dons and Scunthorpe. Ugbo has progressed through Chelsea’s youth system and is an England youth international, managing two goals in five appearances for the Under-20s, and joins a Roda outfit who finished 13th in the Eerste Divisie last season.
