Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic has agreed to join French Ligue 1 club RC Strasbourg on a season-long loan deal.
Petrovic played 31 times under Mauricio Pochettino last season but will move on after Chelsea signed Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal as his replacement last month, BBC Sport reports.
The 24-year-old also signed a new contract on improved terms at Chelsea before his move to Strasbourg, the club owned by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital’s parent company BlueCo.
The Blues, who signed Petrovic from New England Revolution for £14m last summer, believe the move is in the interest of his long-term development.
The two-time Serbia international will help strengthen undefeated Strasbourg, now led by English manager Liam Rosenior, in France’s top flight.
Petrovic will be the third Chelsea player to join the club on loan, joining American defender Caleb Wiley and Brazil international Andrey Santos.
Chelsea also sold winger Diego Moreira to the Ligue 1 club earlier this month.
