Cole Palmer opened the scoring on 14 minutes but with eight minutes left Jean-Philippe Mateta equalised for Palace.
The draw means Palace are still waiting for a first win against Chelsea since 2017.
Enzo Maresca’s men are fourth on 36 points after 20 games.
At the Etihad, Manchester City continued their resurgence with a comfortable 4-1 win against West Ham United.
A brace from Erling Haaland, a strike from Phil Foden and an owm goal by Vladimir Coufal, sealed the win for Pep Guardiola’s men.
The reigning Premier League champions are now in sixth place on 34 points, 11 points adrift of Liverpool in the league table.
In other Premier League games, Paul Onuachu and Joe Aribo featured in Southampton’s 5-0 defeat to Brentford, Aston Villa pipped Leicester 2-1, and Bournemouth beat Everton 1-0.
