Frank Lampard has lauded the performance of Chelsea’s hat-trick hero Tammy Abraham in Saturday’s 5-2 win at Wolves.
England international Abraham was left out of Gareth Southgate’s squad for the recent Euro 2020 qualifiers, with the Three Lions winning both, but the striker did his chances of a call-up no harm after netting his first Premier League hat-trick in the 5-2 win at Wolves.
The London-born star, who is the youngest Chelsea player to score a hat-trick, also became just the third player in PL history to score two or more goals in three consecutive appearances aged 21 or younger, after Cristiano Ronaldo in December 2006 and Dele Alli in January 2017.

Unfortunately, Abraham also found the net at the wrong end against Wolves, becoming the first player in English top-flight history to record a hat-trick and an own goal in the same game.
Despite the unfortunate mishap, it was a fantastic performance from the in-form striker, who now has seven league goals this season, and he will be hoping that form can be continued in the Champions League next week.
Last season’s Europa League champions, who defeated Arsenal in the final, kick off their quest for the coveted trophy with a home clash against La Liga outfit Valencia on Tuesday night.
Speaking about Abraham’s performance against Wolves, Lampard said: “I am so delighted for him. I know how hard the academy works and Tammy has an enthusiasm to score goals and he has a fantastic approach to the game and how he wants to progress.
“All three goals were so different, it just shows what he can do. We know where we are at.”
Chelsea’s next league game is at home to Liverpool, who defeated Newcastle United 3-1 at Anfield earlier on Saturday, on Sunday week.
The Reds are the only team left with a 100 percent record in England’s top flight, having taken the maximum 15 points on offer.
