Head Coach Augustine Eguavoen has called to camp Remo Stars’ wing-back Ismail Sadiq, Kano Pillars’ forward Zikifilu Rabiu and Enugu Rangers’ attacking midfielder Kazeem Ogunleye among a list of 35 players of Super Eagles B for the 2025 African Nations Championship qualifying fixture against Ghana.
The first leg of the fixture, which is a reminder of the qualification series for the last edition of the competition, which Ghana edged on penalty shootout, is billed for the weekend of 20th – 22nd December, with the return leg a week later.
The winner over two legs will earn a slot at the 8th edition of the competition exclusively reserved for footballers plying their trade in their country’s domestic League. The finals will take place across Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, 1st – 28th February 2025.
Akwa United’s Wisdom Ndom, Enugu Rangers’ Saviour Isaac, Anas Yusuf of Nasarawa United and El-Kanemi Warriors’ Abba Maigari are also invited to the camp that will open in Abuja on Tuesday, 29th October.

I would have loved to see Musa, Abdullahi and the Kano Pillar’s number 10 on the list
Go and watch the highlight btw Pillar and Rangers. I’m just saying it incase you think the aforementioned are excellent because of the manipulated away win to Rangers were pillars were gifted goals. Take nothing away from the list, good to see Sodiq and Nduka of Remo stars. Eguavoen has some level of honesty in his coaching selections and he must be commended in other to do more.
How was the away win manipulated? I saw a few stiff, and that Ahmed Musa’s goal was a great one. I just like their experience in big European clubs, having played at the highest level too could prove quite useful or the team.
I think CHAN should be for Players Plying their Trade on the AFRICAN continent, that way players like Ajayi (few years back), would not have faded to obscurity and players like Ndah and Isiaka can be keeping in top shape and have better chances to make it to bigger clubs as European scouts send big scouts to this tournament sOmething that, NFF and some SE fans forget!
@Papafem… We need the experience of Ahmed Musa, Shehu Abdullahi, brown ideye and Rabiu Ali to beef up this team…
Since they’re still firing on all cylinders at the home front… This will also encourage guys Joel Obi and Ogenyi Onanzi to come back to NPFL to Wind down their careers
Honestly surprised Eguavoen left those 4 names out.
The return of former foreign-based or retiring players to the NPFL and the increasing involvement of ex-internationals in coaching (Amunike, Finidi, Amokachi, etc.) in the league are drawing interest and quality to the NPFL, and we should make the most of that with CHAN.
In any case, I’m confident they’ll qualify with a healthy aggregate scoreline and no penalties.
I totally agree with you.

It is sad that we will miss last season’s top scorer, Chijioke Mbaoma who left Enyimba FC for a Libyan clubside. Izuogu Chibueze left Enyimba FC for Sportii in Moldova,Sani Suleiman also left Akwa United for SA Trencin of Slovakia.
