Gernot Rohr, Péter Olayinka is your man. Hmmm, what a performance from a gangling, Nwankwo Kanu-look-alike kind of player ! In spite of his frame, he was full of running, helping the defense and midfield and has Kanu’s calm, deceptive touches near the opponent’s goal. From what I saw against Inter Milan, Peter Olayinka Will provide a lot of options for the Super eagles attack.
Yeso, he was behind every attacking threat full of hunger and passion. Was beautifully rewarded with a well taking goal. He deserves to be in the Super Eagles.
Every time u call on the coach to invite this and that. If by tomorrow another Nigeria player score somewhere you will still come here and starting shouting again. The guy is good no doubt abt that but can all these players play for Nigeria at the same time?. Some guys don’t know about anything football at all but sha want to always say something. They don’t even talk about inviting him to age grade team but super eagles directly hmmmm.
This is Super Eagles, we need the best, it is no body’s both right as long you a Nigerian and play topflight football and really really good you deserved to be looked into. As at now, Ighalo is gone and we are in search of at least 3 world class no. 9 to be in the Super Eagles. Victor Osimen is presently leading that for now, but a great team does not stop there. You keep searching. Average is the enemy of the best. Nigerian was never destined to be an average footballing nation.
Thank God you are not the coach and he definitely does not think like you.
My dear@tayo i dnt know what is wrong with some ogogolo drinkers that use to come in this site, anytime Rorh should call this and that because he scored maybe Fifa will permit Rorh to start inviting 100 players to a tournament, illiteracy is the worst sickness,i heard that finidi scored last weekend plZ Rorh should call him too, madness
Hahaha Tayo you no go kill me with laugh. What about Brazil inviting all the best talents or English inviting even Callum Wilson of Bou. Baba let’s the best talents be given a chance during friendlies and the best for official matches.
Now the champions league has started and the competition for who becomes the Super Eagles hottest no. 9. It is no longer a question of you are playing in superior league or an inferior league. This is the peak in club football worldwide. Lets see which Nigerian especially the no. 9s or striker that will finish with the highest no. of goals. The contestants are: Victor Osimen, Peter Olayinka, Paul Onuachu, Tammy Abraham, Stephen Odey.
As at now Olayinka is leading, with 1 goal in 1 champions league game.
Yes with Conte inter defense is not a joke.
Error not for this thread.
Inter Milan defense is not just any defence so inviting the guy for trial won’t be out of place
Yes with Conte inter defense is not a joke.
@IKeben,u are quite on point.lets based our assessment on champions league goals scored because its the biggest club competition in the world.
Hi guys so far so good we all are happy that our darling SE is gradually revolving into world beaters all thanks to d govt, nff, coaching crew n d fans, first we need to help rohr scout for players and I think d area we need a better reinforce is d defence,d only future reliable defender we have now is ajayi ,balogun is good but age is not on his side, ekong is overrated n omerou is a time bomb waiting to explode by next nations cup u will understand better ,d midfield for now pending when our English born players paper work will be sorted out kelechi nwakali n azubuike okechukwu needs to be integrated into the team, nwakali is a good player but wrong clubs is PHD for partnership I think iwobi/,ariebo/etebor is better, etobor is ahead of ndidi in terms of speed n passing accuracy, d striking department is well stocked but if GR thinks otherwise cool
The guy is good. Skilful, intelligent and a real hard worker. Pure hustler for the ball. No dull moment. Knowing Rohr for who he is as a stickler for merit, he’ll very likely invite Peter Olayinka for the next game against Brazil. The competition is welcome in the Super Eagles. This one looks like he can easily bench Iheanacho; could be a straight fight between him, Osimhen and Dennis. Let the competition begin and the best No9 take the SE shirt as the first choice.
And Iwobi too needs competition in his role cos it seems our movement forward often breaks with him. When the ball gets to him, it’s always a 50-50 chance that the ball will not be intercepted, unlike the real, mature G, Samuel Kalu. Let people like Simon Moses and Anderson Esiti make space in the list for the Brazil friendly for new kids on the block like Peter of Slavia Prague and Eze of QPR. No time to waste, biko.
@Ubah,before you start insulting your whole family, did you even watch the game between Inter Milan and Slavia Praha ? People like you know nothing about ⚽ football and will not even notice when you see quality footballer.
Who is talking about goalscoring here ? Just as Ikeben noted, thank God Gernot Rohr doesn’t think like you guys. He rewards merit and based on what Peter Olayinka displayed yesterday, the bobo will soon be in Gernot Rohr’s team.
We are talking about a guy apart from being a hustler like Amokachi, still has some traits of Kanu Nwankwo ; skilful, cool and intelligent.
Since Kanu retired, we’ve not had someone like that. He will offer the Super eagles great options just as he did for his team yesterday. He played as a support striker in the first half, creating chances and in d second half, he led the attack, fighting for every ball just as the commentator said he was finally rewarded for his efforts.
I no b agent, all I care is a formidable Super eagles.
Mr man @peepee what is wrong with u,even if u are an ogogolo drinker do u have to carry it to this forum,i have never mentioned anyone’s name here why do u take it personal, plz pls behave urself, thanks,up super eagles up coach Rorh up Naija,
Let’s take it easy when it comes to inviting players to the national team. Apart from the champions league, how many have watched his games in the league? It’s too early to judge his performance, let us wait for the 3 group games and I bet it with you that his name may fade away if they fail to make it past the group stage because you people will forget him and replace him with another current goalscorer
Peter Olayinka has been a consistent performer over the last 2-3years….that said, I’ll fancy it more if our midfield consists of the following players from now on
DM
Ndidi,Onanzi,Azubuike okechukwu
CM(box 2 box)
Aribo,Etebor,K.Nwankali,Dele Bashiru
AMC
Iwobi,Iheanacho,Ebere Eze
My ideal 6 midfielders for the Brazil game are
Ndidi
Azubuike
Aribo
Etebo
Iwobi
Iheanacho
Baba you have a good list but dele is not yet ready for SE. he is still young and not showing that box to box movement we require, let him grow and develop at watford where he has to prove himself before we invite him to SE
I doubt anybody will be called upto the Super Eagles based on their first Champions league goal. Granted Peter Olayinka and Slavia Prague had the best result of any Nigerian footballer yesterday, but that is just day one of many to come.
Another stat that has been doing the rounds yesterday is for Osimhen. The headline is 5 games and 5 goals, but the subtext being 3 away games, no goals. Now he is in the driver’s seat for the Super eagles given his showing against Ukraine and the next international football window is a month away (with call ups likely to be in two weeks). There is a lot of football to be played between now and the end of the month when the next call ups will be
Nigerians Always make me laugh. They are always carried away by a one day show. No doubts! Every Nigerian player out there has quality including Peter Olayinka but I am among those not moved by his performance and goal scored yesterday. Let us see more of that before we start clamouring for his inclusion in the Super Eagles! Week in Week Out, Do we hear same about him in the League he plays in?? Of course NO! So why the fuse about the Super Eagles straightaway cuz of a goal scored yesterday. We have Chuba AKPOM that has scored more than one goal in Greece coupled with good showing for 90 mins and we’re not clamouring for his inclusion into the Super Eagles…That amazing. That just an example oo, we still have other strikers like that.
My joy: We have a sound coach who understands this principle and he’s not moved by one game showing only. He waits till you are consistent before he thinks of inviting you. Example of people he has done that to and now they are beginning to fade in Club performances are Fernando Adi, David Okereke, Dessers, ODEY, Akinyemi(that was scoring for fun in Europa Qualifiers then)…Now, this guys you hardly hear of them. Coach Gernot Rohr knows what he’s doing. So this fan attitude of coming to pages like this to shout for players inclusion cuz of one game showing is just a scam!
#SoarSuperEagles
Hahaha
Olayinka produced a fine performance playing AWAY AT THE SAN SIRO. He gave the Inter defence a torrid time, all night! To have the heart, the courage and the ability to play like that in one of the biggest stadia on the planet, against world class opposition, it’s impossible to fake or fluke that. If he consistently produces more performances like this, Rohr will be forced to look his way. Interesting to see how it shakes down, with all the talent we already have in the striking position.
