Defender Luca Ceppitelli has signed a new contract extension to keep him at Cagliari until summer 2021. The 29-year-old, who joined the Isolani from Parma in a 1.5million euro deal in 2014 and has since scored seven goals in 126 appearances, was approaching the final year of his contract.

And, despite injury and suspension issues restricting Ceppitelli to 24 starts last term, the Serie A outfit made him captain in January and have now released a statement to confirm that he has agreed to add another 12 months to his deal.
