With Cedric one of the big earners at St Mary’s and given his standing in the Saints squad, the club have been open to offers for the Euro 2016 winner this month and look to have found him a new home.
Inter Milan are set to sign Cedric, who has 18 months left on his Southampton contract, on loan for the remainder of the season with a view to a permanent move come the summer.
Ceric’s departure will clear the way for the south coast side to bring in a new right-back and Genk defender Joakim Maehle has been linked with a move, although the Belgians are understood to be fighting hard to retain the 21-year-old and any transfer may have to wait until the summer.
