Peter Cech expects Arsenal to progress in Europe despite their surprise Europa League defeat at BATE Borisov this week. The Europa League is the Gunners only chance of any success this season but their place in the next round is under threat after the Belarusian Premier League champions sealed a memorable 1-0 victory over a strong Arsenal side on Thursday.
The return is at home this coming Thursday and Cech expects a different outcome despite the fact they will be without Alexandre Lacazette, who is banned for the second leg after being sent off in Belarus.

Boss Unai Emery insisted after the defeat here that he “trusts” his players to turn the tie around in north London – with Cech echoing the sentiment of his coach. “We had enough chances to win the game but we didn’t,” he saiid. “We have to make sure we win the home leg and we go through. We have the whole 90 minutes to play for and I am sure we can do that.”
