Paul Casey claimed a one-shot victory at the Porsche European Open to land his first European Tour title for five years.
The Englishman, who won the Valspar Championship on the PGA Tour earlier this year, shot a final round six-under 66 in Hamburg to claim the win.
Casey began the final round one shot behind overnight leaders Bob MacIntyre and Bernd Ritthammer but his bogey-free 66, with six birdies, was enough to see him score a first win on the European tour since the 2014 KLM Open in the Netherlands.
“This is an incredibly prestigious tournament,” Casey told Sky Sports. “I’m over the moon to be European Open champion.” Scotland’s MacIntyre, Ritthammer of Germany and Austrian Matthias Schwab finished in a tie for second.
