Nathanial Mendez-Laing feels it is crucial Neil Warnock remains as Cardiff City manager despite their relegation.
The Bluebirds’ drop was confirmed on Saturday after a 3-2 defeat at home to Crystal Palace.
Warnock has one year left on his current deal and has indicated he is keen to remain in charge, with the 70-year-old set to hold talks with owner Vincent Tan over the next few days.
Warnock has won promotion eight times as a manager and winger Mendez-Laing believes he should be given the chance to guide Cardiff back into the Premier League at the first attempt next term. “It’s massively important he remains,” said Mendez-Laing, as reported by the Independent.

“He pulls together everyone throughout the club, he’s got a good relationship with the players, and he’s won eight promotions. “He knows the Championship better than anybody.
If he does stay, I don’t think there’s anyone better to get a team back out of there.”
