Ethan Nwaneri opened his goals account for Arsenal with a brace in the Gunners’ 5-1 win against Bolton Wanderers in round 3 of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
Raheem Sterling also got his first goal for Arsenal and also provided an assist in the comfortable win.
Declan Rice gave Arsenal the lead in the 16th minute before Nwaneri doubled the lead on 37 minutes off a Sterling assist.
In the 49th minute Nwaneri got his second this time Rice laid the pass for the academy product.
Bolton pulled a goal back through Aaron Collins on 53 minutes but Sterling made it 4-1 in the 64th minute.
With 13 minutes left substitute Kai Havertz completed the rout by adding the fifth goal.
In another Carabao Cup clash champions Liverpool also thrashed West Ham 5-1 at Anfield.
Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo got two goals each while Mohamed Salah scored one goal.
