Super Eagles midfielder, Joe Aribo was missing in action as Southampton knockout Man City 2-0 to book a place in the semi finals of the Carabao Cup.
The Nigerian international, who has made two appearance in the competition, was on the bench for the entire 90 minutes.
The Saints made a bright start, as Duje Caleta-Car saw an excellent half-volley tipped around the post by Stefan Ortega
They were 2-0 up before the half hour mark, doubling the lead in style as Moussa Djenepo drove forward from midfield before spotting Ortega off his line and superbly curling over the ‘keeper and into the back of the net from 30-yards.
Southampton inflicted the 100th defeat of Guardiola’s managerial career and also book a place to the semi finals .

Aribo’s form has dropped since leaving Glasgow Rangers.
His football for club and country leaves much to be desired.
Nowadays is either he is on the bench for the duration of a game or coming on as a sub that’s how bad it has got,the desire isn’t there anymore very unenthusiastic display the last time I saw him.
What a shame..
Aribo is now a bench warmer, just like Onyeka, Kelechi, Ekong, Uzoho, and Okoye. These 6 players should be replaced in SE till they rediscover their form and play regularly for their clubs. Also, Ndidi has not lived up to expectation this season.
When Musa was a Bench warmer and still criminally wearing the Captains armband you were one of the main people advocating for him to keep the armband yet he was even playing in Kano Pillars at the time. Kelechi came in and rescued Leicester City last week he still plays occasionally so too Aribo he still plays and is probs carrying a little knock we all know Onyeka just came back from injury onlly a week or two ago. yet you want these guys dropped but they are EPL based. when I say some people want nothing good for SE this is exactly the kind of people (@Larry) I am referring to
Uzoho is not a bench warmer oo. He has started the last 10 games for Omonia. Check your facts ooo.
Ekong too…even though Watford has been losing almost every game
