“Obviously we want to be as strong as possible to look for the three points. As we create opportunities with the Central African Republic, we are confident that we will also be able to create with Nigeria and any other team. We always enter the field with a spirit of victory.”
This will be the second meeting between the two West Africans after the Super Eagles forced the Blue Sharks to a 1-1 draw in a friendly in 2013.

Cape verde is a West African country. If you think it’s not West African, what part of Africa do you think it’s in ?
I hope Cape Verde is the only country in our group on UK’s red list. Because this one that our best players will be returning to UK without playing the supposedly most difficult team in our group in their own difficult-to-play artificial turf. It is well. It can affect our qualification chance o.
I hope Nigeria knows this coach’s confidence is not misplaced? I watched the highlights of their match with CAR & these guys are another proposition from Liberia entirely. In fact, from what I saw, Liberia is the weakest team in this group. The Cape Verde team is feisty and go-getting. Incidentally, we’re playing them with a supposedly weakened squad. It’s going to be a go-for turf on Tuesday. Not trying to sound alarm bells, but if we slip up, these guys will pounce on the opportunity like caged tigers – including beating Liberia silly to get a goals difference advantage.
If they are that good they should have beaten CAR. Don’t blet us press the fear button because of Cape Verde.
Rohr needs to manage the match. He needs to get his tactics right. We need at least a draw. If we score first, great…keep it safe till the end. If they come out to attack, vwe van get the second.
You are not trying to sound alarm bells….but you are sounding alarm bells.
A team that drew CAR in Cameroon is one that we all should start fidgeting about. Please come off it.
I didnt watch highlights, I watched the whole game vs CAR….as a matter of fact Ive been watching all the games of our group rivals both in these WCQ and at AFCON…..and CPV arent special in anyway. They attack only from the wings and float crosses into the box…..we’ve got Simon and Kalu to provide adequate cover for Zaidu and Aina/Ebuehi who man the wings for us.
The worst we will get out of Praia is a draw. If Rohr should go with his usual hard-to-crack 3-5-2 then we might as well start celebrating another 3 points in the bag.
We respect Cape Verde just like all teams but I see SE coming back home with 3 points. Our seconds team is as good as our first team. Thank God for the coaching crew lead by Gernot Rohr. VICTORY VICTORY VICTORY………..IS IT, IRRESPECTIVE OF GRASS OR ARTIFICIAL TURF.
