Norwich are reportedly edging closer to a deal to sign Sevilla central defender Ibrahim Amadou ahead of the transfer deadline.
Canaries boss Daniel Farke has spent nowhere near the amount of Dean Smith and Chris Wilder, who guided Aston Villa and Sheffield United to promotion to the Premier League alongside the Canaries last season.
Ralf Fahrmann and Patrick Roberts have joined on loan, while Switzerland international striker Josip Drmic has come in on a free transfer.
But a swoop for Amadou now looks a real possibility as the 26-year-old does not appear to be in the plans of Sevilla coach Julen Lopetegui going into the new season in Spain.
He only joined the club from Lille in a £13million switch last summer and was restricted to just seven starts throughout the course of the campaign. And reports claim Amadou will now move to Carrow Road on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent £9m switch in 12 months.
