Canada defender Shelina Zadorsky can’t hide her excitement after scoring a late equaliser in the 2-2 draw against the Super Falcons of Nigeria on Tuesday, reports Completesports.com.
Zadorsky nodded home Janine Beckie’s cross three minutes from time to prevent the Olympic champions from defeat in the friendly encounter at the Starlight Stadium in Langford B.C.
The Super Falcons stunned the home crowd in the fifth minute when Ifeoma Onumonu slotted home from a free kick.

Christine Sinclair equalised for Canada with a long range effort in the 48th minute, while the Super Falcons regained the lead five minutes later through Rasheed Ajibade.
“As a defender, I’m disappointed we didn’t get a clean sheet but we kept fighting right until the very end,”Zadorsky said after the game.
“I’ve been trying to be an absolute threat on set pieces. It felt great to get us back in the game.”

Terrific performance from both teams! Nigeria showed in this game that they have some serious backbone, and are ready to mix it up with the best in women’s football.
If not for an error that led to Sinclair’s equalizer which made the score 1-1, Nigeria might have won this match. It’s a lesson learned for the SF. Playing the ball out of the back is a risky move that is usually not worth it. Just boot the ball out when in doubt. Don’t take avoidable risks.
Having said that, the SF put up an amazing fight against the Olympic champions. Even if they had lost again today, the way they played was a joy to watch. The hunger, desire, aggressiveness, team-work, everyone working hard for each other. Very impressive indeed!
Onumonu aka ONU-NET is something else. Apart from the backheel goal that put Nigeria 1-0 ahead, she was a total nuisance to the Canada defense. Kudos also to Rasheedat Ajibade, Uchenna Kanu and Toni Payne.
Like she did in the first game, Nnadozie once again made some brilliant saves. And when she was in trouble, the defense came to her rescue.
The SF defense was solid. Loved the way they provided cover for Nnadozie, with several blocks and goal-line clearances. On one occasion, Plumptre headed out a goal-bound shot that looked to be heading into the Nigeria net. Again, apart from the silly error that led to Canada drawing level 1-1, I have to say the SF did really well defensively.
An encouraging performance from the entire team. The coaches are doing a terrific job, going by what the ladies produced on the pitch. This squad looks like they can really do well at the upcoming world cup.
Over hype don start just bcos of one good game. Like Super Eagles vs Egypt.
My country people, make una dey calm down biko
Well done girls.
